Content Search finds things on your own account: a post you wrote, a post you reposted or liked, or a post you bookmarked. One search field covers four tabs:

Tab What it searches Where it comes from
Posts Your own posts and replies Bluesky search, through your own server. Answers at once, with no read of your account.
Reposts Posts you reposted The shared read of your account, searched in your browser
Likes Posts you liked The same shared read
Bookmarks Posts you bookmarked Your bookmarks, read through your own server and searched in your browser

Each tab shows its number of matches once it knows it, such as Likes (1,204). Every result opens the post on Bluesky. Content Search only finds; it does not unlike, unbookmark, delete, or export.

  • Sign in. Content Search reads your own account. See Signing In.
  • Reposts and Likes need the shared read. The first time, BskyKit reads every post, reply, repost, and like on your account. If you already read it in Bulk Delete, Alt-Text Audit, Media Gallery, Reply Settings, or Superfans, the tabs answer at once. The read is kept on this device.
  • Bookmarks are read the first time you open their tab, and kept only while the tab is open.
  1. Open Content Search and sign in.
  2. Type in Search: words from the post, the handle of its author, or the post’s address. The search runs a moment after you stop typing, or at once when you press Enter.
  3. Pick a tab under Search in. On a phone, the tabs are a menu.
  4. Posts: your matching posts and replies show, newest first, 100 at a time. Choose Show more for the next 100.
  5. Reposts or Likes: the first time, choose Read my posts, reposts, and likes. Matches appear while the read goes on and fill in as it finishes.
  6. Bookmarks: your bookmarks are read as the tab opens. The line above them says how many were read and when, such as 40 bookmarks read at 10:42.
  7. Choose a result to open the post on Bluesky in a new tab.

With the field empty, Reposts, Likes, and Bookmarks list everything in that tab, newest first; Posts waits for a search.

  • Search: one field for all four tabs. The clear button in the field empties it.
  • Search in: Posts, Reposts, Likes, or Bookmarks. Default: Posts. The search and the tab you chose are kept while you move around BskyKit in this tab, and reset when you sign out or switch accounts.
  • Show more (Posts only): the next 100 results. The Posts count gets a +, such as Posts (100+), while there are more.
  • Read again (Bookmarks): reads every bookmark again. Stop ends a read under way.
  • The shared read’s Stop, Continue, Read again, and Clear: see the shared read.
  • Posts uses Bluesky’s own search, limited to your account. What it finds and how it treats your words are up to Bluesky.
  • Reposts, Likes, and Bookmarks match when the search appears anywhere, in any case, in the post’s text, its author’s handle (with or without the @), or its address (at://…).
  • Your own posts: the date, its likes, reposts, replies, and quotes, and the text.
  • Reposts, likes, and bookmarks: when you reposted, liked, or bookmarked it, its author, and its text, such as Liked Oct 3, 2026 · post by @bob.bsky.social.
  • Badges for media (Images, Video, Link card, Quote) and labels.

Nothing: Content Search only reads.

  • Posts and Bookmarks are read through your own Bluesky server, which asks Bluesky for them.
  • Reposts and Likes come from the shared read: your records from your own server, and the details of each post from Bluesky’s public API.
  • On this device: the shared read, until Clear, Read again, or sign-out. Your bookmarks are never stored; they last until you close the tab. See Data on Your Device.

Nothing to undo: Content Search only reads.

  • Posts: 100 results per page; Show more goes on as long as Bluesky search has more.
  • Bookmarks: read 100 at a time, all of them, each time you read.
  • Reposts and Likes: the whole account, once. Reading is paced to stay within your server’s limits; a very large account takes a few minutes the first time. See Limits & Pacing.

The Posts tab uses Bluesky’s search, which decides what it finds. To search your own posts word for word in the shared read, use Search in Bulk Delete with the Posts and Replies types. Nothing is deleted unless you select records and confirm.

“Could not search your posts” or “Could not read your bookmarks”

Section titled ““Could not search your posts” or “Could not read your bookmarks””

The message says what Bluesky answered, or that Bluesky could not be reached. Check your connection and choose Try again. BskyKit already retried busy or rate-limited requests a few times.

Reposts or Likes say “Reading your account”

Section titled “Reposts or Likes say “Reading your account””

The shared read is still going. Results fill in as it goes on.

A search for words misses some likes or reposts

Section titled “A search for words misses some likes or reposts”

Text matches need the post’s details, which load after the records. If the read says Post details stopped at…, choose Continue. A post shown as Post unavailable: deleted, or its author is gone or Post hidden by Bluesky moderation has no text to match.

Your bookmarks are read again after a reload

Section titled “Your bookmarks are read again after a reload”

Bookmarks are kept only while the tab is open, never stored on the device. Leave the tab open, or let them read again.
