Unreplied Mentions

What it does

Unreplied Mentions lists the posts that mention you, reply to you, or quote you, and that you have not replied to yet, newest first. Each opens on Bluesky, so you can answer it there.

A post counts as answered when you posted a reply directly to it. Liking it, reposting it, quoting it, or replying somewhere else in the thread does not count.

Some posts never appear:

your own posts;
posts by accounts you mute or block, directly or through a list;
posts by accounts that block you.

Unreplied Mentions only reads. It posts nothing, and it does not mark your notifications as read.

Before you start

Sign in. It reads your notifications and your own posts. See Signing In.
Nothing else is needed. Unreplied Mentions has its own short read; it does not use the shared read of Bulk Delete and Content Search.

Step by step

Open Unreplied Mentions and sign in.
The read starts by itself: Reading your notifications, then Checking your replies. Choose Stop to end it early.
When it finishes, the count shows above the list, such as 12 unanswered.
Narrow the list with Time, Show, and Only people I follow.
Choose a row to open the post on Bluesky in a new tab, and reply there.
To see your new replies counted, choose Refresh.

Each row shows the author’s picture, name, and handle, whether it is a Mention, Reply, or Quote, the text of their post, and how long ago it came in, such as 3 h ago.

Options

Show and Only people I follow filter what was read, with no new read. Your choices are kept while you move around BskyKit in this tab, and reset when you sign out or switch accounts.

What gets changed

Nothing: Unreplied Mentions only reads.

Your notifications of mentions, replies, and quotes are read through your own Bluesky server.
Your own posts in the same window are read from your own server, to see which ones you replied to.
On this device: nothing is stored. The result lasts while the tab is open, and the read goes on if you visit another BskyKit page. See Data on Your Device.

Undo

Nothing to undo: Unreplied Mentions only reads.

Limits

Notifications: at most the newest 5,000 in the window. When there are more, the list says “Only the newest 5,000 notifications were read.”
Your posts: at most your newest 10,000 in the window are checked for replies. When there are more, the list says “Only your newest 10,000 posts were checked for replies.”
Windows: 30 days is the furthest back it reads.
Reads come 100 at a time and are paced to stay within your server’s limits. See Limits & Pacing.

Troubleshooting

A post you answered still shows

Only a reply directly to that post counts. If you replied to another post in the thread, or answered with a quote, it still shows. If you replied after the list was read, choose Refresh.

The list says “All answered” or “No mentions, replies, or quotes in the last 7 days”

All answered means every post in the window has your reply. The second means nothing came in during the window, or Only people I follow hides it. Try a longer Time, or turn the switch off.

Someone’s mention never shows

Accounts you mute or block, directly or by list, and accounts that block you are always left out.

“Could not read your mentions”

The message says what went wrong. Check your connection and choose Try again.
