My Mutes
What it does
Section titled “What it does”My Mutes lists every account you mute, newest first. You can search the list, export it, and unmute the accounts you choose in one run, which you can undo from History.
Mutes are private on Bluesky: only you can see whom you mute. My Mutes reads them through your own server, in your browser.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Sign in with your Bluesky account. See Signing In.
- Accounts muted through a mute list you subscribe to are not listed here; those are managed in Block & Mute Lists.
- Muted words and muted threads are not part of this tool.
Step by step
Section titled “Step by step”- Open My Mutes and sign in if asked.
- Your mutes load by themselves, Reading your mutes, with a progress bar. Choose Stop to end the read early.
- When the read finishes, the line above the list says when it loaded, such as Loaded just now, with Refresh beside it.
- To find someone, type in Search by name, handle, or DID.
- Tick the accounts to unmute, or use Select and then Select all shown.
- Optional: choose Export to download the selected accounts first.
- Choose Unmute selected in the side column. The line under it counts the selection.
- In the confirmation, Unmute 3 accounts?, choose Unmute 3 accounts (the number matches your selection).
- The run starts, or waits behind runs already in the queue. Its progress shows above the button. When it ends, your mutes load again.
Options
Section titled “Options”Search
Section titled “Search”Search by name, handle, or DID matches any part of a handle or display name, or a full DID typed exactly.
Row badges
Section titled “Row badges”Each row shows, when they apply, Labeled (the account carries a moderation label), Follows you, and You follow them.
Select
Section titled “Select”| Choice | What it does |
|---|---|
| Select all shown | Selects every account the search shows. |
| Select none | Clears the whole selection. |
| Invert shown | Flips the selection of the accounts shown. |
Export
Section titled “Export”Export downloads the selected accounts as mutes.csv or mutes.json, with the columns did,
handle, display_name, and reasons (Labeled for labeled accounts, otherwise empty). It is
unavailable until you select an account.
Refresh and Stop
Section titled “Refresh and Stop”- Refresh reads your mutes again. The list shown stays until the new read is in.
- Stop ends a read under way; what was shown before stays.
Size choice for large runs
Section titled “Size choice for large runs”When the selection is more than BskyKit suggests for a day, the confirmation asks how much to do now: a part of the selection now, such as Unmute the first 400 now, or Start the whole run. The rest stay selected for another day.
Pacing meter
Section titled “Pacing meter”Under the button, a meter shows Follows, blocks, and mutes in the last 24 hours against the 1,000 BskyKit suggests a day.
What gets changed
Section titled “What gets changed”- Unmute selected asks your Bluesky server to unmute each chosen account. Mutes are not records in your repository, so nothing public changes.
- Your mutes are read through your own server, 100 at a time.
- The list stays only in the open tab. Moving to another BskyKit page and back does not stop or repeat the read; signing out or switching account clears it. See Data on Your Device.
Undo the run from History. It mutes the same accounts again. The undo confirmation reads, for example, Mutes 3 accounts again. with the accounts listed below it. See History & Undo.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- Unmutes use none of your server’s write points. BskyKit sends one at a time, a quarter of a second apart (about four a second), and saves the run’s progress every 25.
- Unmutes still count toward the 1,000 a day BskyKit suggests, together with follows, unfollows, blocks, unblocks, mutes, and list subscription changes.
- If your server refuses one account, that account is skipped and the run carries on. If the server asks BskyKit to slow down, the run waits and carries on by itself while a BskyKit tab is open.
See Limits & Pacing.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”“Could not read your mutes”
Section titled ““Could not read your mutes””Your server did not answer, or the connection dropped. Choose Try again.
“You do not mute anyone”
Section titled ““You do not mute anyone””Your account mutes no accounts directly. Accounts muted through a subscribed mute list are listed in Block & Mute Lists, not here.
“No muted accounts match”
Section titled ““No muted accounts match””Nobody matches the search. Check the spelling, or clear the search box. A DID must be typed in full.
The run finished with some skipped
Section titled “The run finished with some skipped”Your server refused those accounts. Check the run in History to see what was written and what was skipped.
“BskyKit is open in another tab”
Section titled ““BskyKit is open in another tab””Another BskyKit tab holds an older copy of the run database open. Close the other tab and reload. See Troubleshooting.
