Data on Your Device

BskyKit has no database of its own. All Bluesky reads and writes run in your browser, and what BskyKit keeps is stored in this browser. Another browser or device starts empty. This page is a summary; the details are on the Privacy and Cookies pages.

  • Your session, so you stay signed in.
  • Your run history, so you can resume or undo runs. It holds the records each run created and never contains credentials.
  • The follow lists you load in Following Review and Follow Back, and the list you load in List Clean Up. They are kept until you clear them, refresh them, or sign out.
  • The read of your posts, reposts, and likes that Bulk Delete makes. Content Search, Alt-Text Audit, Media Gallery, Reply Settings, and Superfans (Who you engage with) use the same read. It is kept until you choose Clear or Read again, or sign out.
  • An activity cache for the follow tools: when each account you follow last posted, kept for 24 hours so a paused check can resume.
  • Follower Changes snapshots: your followers’ account IDs and the last 100 changes, saved each time your followers finish loading. They are deleted when you sign out.
  • Best Time to Post results, for up to 20 accounts, until you clear your browser’s site data.
  • Work in progress in a tab, so it survives the sign-in redirect.

Some results are kept only while the tab is open and never stored: your bookmarks in Content Search, Unreplied Mentions, and Superfans (Their fans).

The BskyKit server serves the site and makes one kind of request for you: the HTTPS handle check of Handle & DID Lookup. Your browser sends the handle’s domain, and our server fetches /.well-known/atproto-did from that domain and returns the DID in it. Nothing else you do in a tool passes through our server.

  • Your own Bluesky server (PDS), for sign-in, your follows and followers, your posts, blocks, mutes, and every write.
  • Bluesky’s public API (AppView), to read packs, lists, profiles, and posts, and to suggest accounts as you type a handle.
  • Constellation, a public index of Bluesky records run by microcosm, which Account Inspector uses to find who blocks an account and which lists it is on. It receives the inspected account’s DID.
  • plc.directory and Cloudflare’s public DNS service, for Handle & DID Lookup.
  • Sign out revokes your session and clears the follow lists, Follower Changes record, and the read of your posts kept for that account.
  • Clear in a tool, such as Bulk Delete, removes that tool’s stored read.
  • Remove a run in History to delete its record.
  • Clear your browser’s site data for bskykit.app to remove everything, including History and Best Time to Post results.
