My Lists
What it does
Section titled “What it does”My Lists shows every list your account owns, curation lists and moderation lists alike, and is the starting point of the List Tools. From here you can:
- Edit a list’s name, description, and avatar without touching its members.
- Copy a list into a new list of the same kind.
- Make a Starter Pack from a list.
- Make a moderation list from a curation list, or Make a curation list from a moderation list.
- Clean up a list in List Clean Up.
Copy and the three “Make” choices hand the list to the Starter Pack Converter, which does the writing. My Lists itself only edits a list’s details.
The other List Tools sit in tabs at the top of the page: Compare (Compare Lists), Clean Up (List Clean Up), and Merge (Merge Lists).
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Sign in with your Bluesky account. See Signing In.
- Only lists your signed-in account created appear. To work with someone else’s list, paste its link into Compare Lists, Merge Lists, or the Starter Pack Converter.
Step by step
Section titled “Step by step”- Open My Lists and sign in if asked.
- Your lists load, with a count such as 4 lists above them. Each row shows the list’s avatar, its name, and Curation list or Moderation list with the number of people on it. Choose the name to open the list on Bluesky.
- To change a list’s details, choose Edit on its row. In Edit list:
- Change Name or Description. The counter beside each shows how many characters you have used.
- To change the avatar, choose a file under Avatar. To take the avatar off, tick Remove the current avatar (shown only when the list has one).
- Choose Save. A List updated message confirms it, and the list reloads.
- To copy or convert a list, choose More (the … button) on its row, then Copy, Make a Starter Pack, Make a moderation list, or Make a curation list. The converter opens with the list loaded and the output already chosen. Check the name and members there, then start the run.
- To clean up a list, choose More, then Clean up. List Clean Up opens with that list chosen and starts loading its members.
Options

Edit list fields
Section titled “Edit list fields”| Field | Rule |

Refresh
Section titled “Refresh”Refresh (the circular arrow beside the count) loads your lists again. The lists shown stay on screen while the new copy loads. Lists also reload by themselves after a run that creates, merges into, removes from, or deletes one of your lists.
What gets changed
Section titled “What gets changed”- Edit rewrites the list record (
app.bsky.graph.list) on your own Bluesky server. Only the name, description, and avatar change. The list’s kind, its members, its address, and any other fields stay as they were. A new avatar is uploaded to your server first. - If you change the description, it is saved without the link and mention formatting the old description carried.
- Copy and the “Make” choices change nothing by themselves. They open the converter, and the converter’s run writes the new list or Starter Pack. See the Starter Pack Converter.
- Your lists are read from Bluesky’s public API (AppView). Nothing about them is stored on this device.
- Edits have no Undo. They are saved straight away and do not appear in History. To go back, edit the list again. See History & Undo.
- Lists and Starter Packs made with Copy or a “Make” choice are converter runs, so you can undo them from History.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- List names: up to 64 characters. Descriptions: up to 300 characters.
- Avatars: PNG or JPEG, up to 1 MB.
- Starter Packs hold at most 150 accounts. The converter asks you to untick the rest when a list is larger.
- My Lists shows curation and moderation lists. The lists that hold your Starter Packs’ members are not shown here.
Troubleshooting

Section titled ““No lists yet””Your account owns no curation or moderation lists. Choose Make a list to build one in the Starter Pack Converter, or create one on Bluesky and choose Refresh.
“Could not load your lists”
Section titled ““Could not load your lists””Bluesky’s public API did not answer. Choose Refresh to try again.
