FAQ

Short answers to the questions people ask most. For step-by-step fixes, see Troubleshooting.

Yes. BskyKit is free, with no account with us.

BskyKit has no database of its own. Your session, run history, and the data tools load are kept in your browser on this device. Our server only makes the HTTPS handle check for Handle & DID Lookup. See Data on Your Device and the Privacy page.

Tools that read your own follows, lists, blocks, or posts, or change your account, need your permission. Tools that only read public Bluesky data work without signing in. See Signing In.

Is it safe to give BskyKit access? What can it do?

Section titled “Is it safe to give BskyKit access? What can it do?”

You approve access on your own Bluesky server; your password is never entered on BskyKit. Bluesky currently offers only broad account access to apps like this one (the atproto transition:generic scope). BskyKit uses it only to read your data and to write the records you select and confirm. Signing out revokes the session on your Bluesky server.

Every run except a Bulk Delete can be undone from History. See History & Undo.

Large runs can get an account labeled as spam. BskyKit suggests at most 1,000 follows, unfollows, blocks, unblocks, mutes, and block list entries a day, and paces every run within Bluesky’s limits. See Limits & Pacing.

Does it work if my account is not on bsky.social?

Section titled “Does it work if my account is not on bsky.social?”

Yes. Accounts on other servers, and handles on your own domain, sign in the same way.

Bluesky sends followers 100 at a time and limits how fast any one connection can ask, so loading a large account takes minutes. Writes are paced to stay within your server’s limits.

No. BskyKit is made independently by Three Things Media and is not affiliated with Bluesky Social PBC.
