Follower Changes
What it does
Section titled “What it does”Follower Changes shows three groups of people:
- Unfollowed you: people who followed you last time and no longer do.
- New followers: people who follow you now and did not last time.
- Mutuals: people you follow who follow you back.
Bluesky keeps no record of who unfollowed you, so BskyKit keeps its own. Each time your followers finish loading in full on this device, BskyKit compares them with the previous load, notes who came and who left, and saves the new list as a snapshot. The changes you see are the differences between those loads.
You can select people who unfollowed you, or your mutuals, and unfollow them in one run that you can undo.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Sign in. Your followers and follows are read through your own Bluesky server. See Signing In.
- Changes start from your first full load. The first time your followers load in full, BskyKit only saves the first snapshot. Changes appear after a later load. Unfollows from before your first load cannot be found.
- Any full load counts. A full load of your followers on this page or on Follow Back takes a snapshot. A partial or stopped load does not, and neither does opening a list already kept in this browser.
- Changes are kept on this device. Another browser or device starts with no snapshot.
Step by step
Section titled “Step by step”- Open Follower Changes and sign in if asked. The page loads your followers and your follows, or opens the ones kept in this browser.
- On your first visit the page shows No changes yet. Come back later and choose Refresh next to “Loaded N min ago” to load your followers again. That load is compared with the last one.
- Under Show, choose Unfollowed you, New followers, or Mutuals. Each shows its count.
- Unfollowed you and New followers show the latest change of that kind. To see an earlier one, pick its date and time under Change.
- To unfollow someone, tick them in Unfollowed you or Mutuals. Only accounts you still follow can be ticked.
- Choose Unfollow selected in the side panel and confirm in the dialog, which reads “Unfollow N accounts?”.
- The run writes in the side panel. When it finishes, choose Undo if you change your mind, or Dismiss.
Options
Section titled “Options”- Unfollowed you: people in the previous snapshot who are not in the new one. Rows for accounts you no longer follow say “you do not follow them” and cannot be ticked. An account that was deleted, deactivated, or taken down also drops out of your followers, so it appears here with a note saying so.
- New followers: people in the new snapshot who were not in the previous one. This is a plain list with nothing to tick. To follow them back, use Follow Back.
- Mutuals: accounts you follow that still exist and are in your latest follower snapshot.
On a narrow screen, Show is a menu instead of a row of buttons.
Change
Section titled “Change”Appears once there is a change of the chosen kind. Each entry is the date and time of a load that found new followers (for New followers) or people gone (for Unfollowed you). The newest is chosen by default.
Select
Section titled “Select”Select → Select all shown, Select none, or Invert shown. Accounts you do not follow are never selected. This page has no export; to export your follows or followers, use Following Review or Follow Back.
Loading all followers
Section titled “Loading all followers”If your followers are loaded only in part, such as the newest 50,000 of a large account, no snapshot can be taken. The page shows Load all your followers to see changes with Load all followers.
If you cleared your followers on Follow Back, or your follows on Following Review, this page shows Load your followers or Load your follows to load them again.
What gets changed
Section titled “What gets changed”An unfollow run deletes every follow record you have for each account you selected, on your own Bluesky server. Nothing else changes. Looking at changes and mutuals changes nothing.
Where the data comes from:
- Your followers are read through your own Bluesky server.
- Your follow records are read from your own Bluesky server.
- The profiles of people in a change are read from Bluesky’s public API.
What stays on this device: one snapshot of your followers’ account IDs and the last 100 changes, the loaded follow lists, and a record of each run in History. Signing out deletes the snapshot and the change record. Clear on Follow Back keeps them. See Data on Your Device.
Undo an unfollow run with Undo on the finished run in the side panel, or later from History. Undo follows the same accounts again. The restored follows carry the date of the undo, not the original date. See History & Undo.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- Change record: the last 100 changes are kept. A load that finds nobody new and nobody gone adds no change.
- Full loads only: a snapshot needs every follower loaded. In a test, 300,000 followers loaded in about 13 minutes.
- Unfollow pace: your server allows up to about 5,000 unfollows an hour and 35,000 a day.
- Daily suggestion: BskyKit suggests at most 1,000 follows, unfollows, blocks, and mutes a day, counted over the last 24 hours. A larger run opens the same choice as on Following Review.
See Limits & Pacing.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”“No changes yet”
Section titled ““No changes yet””Either this is your first full load, or nobody has followed or unfollowed you since the last one. Choose Refresh later to load your followers again.
“Load all your followers to see changes”
Section titled ““Load all your followers to see changes””Your followers are loaded only in part, so they cannot be compared. Choose Load all followers and keep the tab open until it finishes.
Someone shows in Unfollowed you but cannot be ticked
Section titled “Someone shows in Unfollowed you but cannot be ticked”You no longer follow them, so there is nothing to unfollow. The row says “you do not follow them”.
“Could not load these profiles”
Section titled ““Could not load these profiles””The profiles of the people in the change could not be read from Bluesky. Choose Try again.
Changes are missing in another browser
Section titled “Changes are missing in another browser”Snapshots are kept in the browser that took them. Open BskyKit in the browser you used before.
“Could not load your followers”
Section titled ““Could not load your followers””The load stopped on an error. If some followers had loaded, the notice offers Try again from there; otherwise choose Try again. A snapshot is taken only once the load completes.
