Bulk Follow

Open Bulk Follow →

Bulk Follow follows a set of accounts you name. Paste handles, DIDs, or profile links, add accounts one by one with search, or upload a file, such as a CSV exported from the Starter Pack Converter. BskyKit checks every entry first and shows who each one is, which entries it could not find, and which accounts it leaves out. You choose who to follow, then follow them in one run that you can undo.

To follow everyone in a Starter Pack or list, use the converter instead: it reads every member for you.

  • You can check accounts without signing in. Signed out, BskyKit shows who each entry is. Sign in to follow them, and to leave out accounts you already follow or block. See Signing In.
  • Your list survives sign-in. The text you pasted is kept in this tab while you go to your Bluesky server to approve access. When you come back, the accounts are checked again with your follows and blocks.
  • Plan large sets over days. BskyKit suggests at most 1,000 follows a day; see Limits.
  1. Open Bulk Follow.
  2. Add the accounts in any of three ways:
    • Type a name or handle in Add an account, pick a suggestion or keep what you typed, and choose Add. It goes on its own line in the list below.
    • Paste entries into Accounts to follow, one per line or separated by commas.
    • Choose a file under Or upload a file. BskyKit reads it into the list and checks it at once.
  3. Choose Check accounts. A progress bar shows Checking accounts.
  4. Read any notices above the results: links that belong in the converter, entries that are not accounts, and accounts that were not found.
  5. Look through Accounts found. Every account you can follow starts selected. A row whose entry was not its handle says where it came from, such as “from bsky.app/profile/…”. Badges mark Labeled accounts and accounts that Never posted.
  6. Untick anyone you do not want.
  7. Sign in if you have not. The side panel shows Sign in to follow until you do.
  8. Choose Follow selected and confirm in the dialog, which reads “Follow N accounts?”. A large run first offers a choice; see Limits.
  9. The run writes in the side panel. Accounts it follows show as Following. When it finishes, choose Undo if you change your mind, or Dismiss.
  • Handles, such as name.bsky.social or @name.bsky.social, including handles on your own domain.
  • DIDs, such as did:plc:….
  • Profile links, such as https://bsky.app/profile/name.bsky.social.
  • A CSV with a did column, such as the converter’s export or a Follow Tools export. Only the did column is read.
  • A file: .csv or .txt.

Repeated entries count once. Add an account says when the account is already in the list.

Starter Pack and list links are not followed here. The page counts them in a notice with Open them in the converter, which opens the converter with those links added.

Once you are signed in, some accounts cannot be selected. They show a badge, and the page sums them up, such as “Left out: 3 you already follow, 1 blocked in either direction.”

  • You: your own account.
  • Following: accounts you already follow.
  • Blocked: accounts you block or that block you.

Labeled and Never posted are only badges. Those accounts stay selectable, so you decide.

  • Select → Select all shown, Select none, or Invert shown. Left-out accounts are never selected.
  • Export downloads the selected accounts as CSV (bulk-follow.csv) or JSON (bulk-follow.json). It is unavailable until you select an account.

Clear empties the list and the Add an account field, drops the accounts found and their notices, clears the selection, and dismisses the finished run. It never cancels a queued or running run.

A follow run creates one follow record in your account for each account you selected, on your own Bluesky server. Checking accounts changes nothing.

Where the data comes from:

  • Signed out, entries are checked against Bluesky’s public API.
  • Signed in, they are checked through your own Bluesky server, which also says whether you follow or block each account.

What stays on this device: the list and its results, for this tab only; and a record of each run in History. See Data on Your Device.

Undo a follow run with Undo on the finished run in the side panel, or later from History. Undo deletes the follows the run created and nothing else. See History & Undo.

  • Follow pace: your server allows about 1,666 follows an hour and 11,666 a day.
  • Daily suggestion: BskyKit suggests at most 1,000 follows, unfollows, blocks, and mutes a day, counted over the last 24 hours, because large follow runs can get an account labeled as spam. The Last 24 hours meter in the side panel shows where you stand.
  • Large runs: a run that crosses the suggestion, or takes more than a day, opens a choice titled “Following N accounts takes at least D days”. You can:
    • Follow the newest … now: follows the first accounts in your list, as many as today’s suggestion leaves room for, and keeps the rest selected for another day. If you already reached 1,000 in the last 24 hours, this choice is unavailable.
    • Start the whole run: it pauses at Bluesky’s limits and continues while the tab is open, or when you come back.
  • Notices list the first 50 entries, then “and N more”.

See Limits & Pacing.

Section titled ““N entries are not a handle, DID, or profile link””

These entries could not be read as accounts. Check for typos, stray words, or links to posts. Each entry needs its own line or a comma between entries.

No Bluesky account answers to these entries. They may be misspelled, or the accounts may have been deleted, deactivated, or taken down. Look one up in Handle & DID Lookup to see its handle history.

Bulk Follow does not read packs or lists. Choose Open them in the converter in the notice, then choose Follow all there.

The check stopped on an error, shown in the notice. Choose Check accounts to try again.

The browser could not open the file you chose. Save it as plain text or CSV and upload it again, or paste its contents into the list.

They are you, accounts you already follow, or blocks in either direction. Their badge says which.
