Limits & Pacing

Bluesky limits how fast an account can read and write, and BskyKit paces its work to stay within those limits. The follow tools explain the same figures under How limits work.

Your Bluesky server gives each account about 5,000 write points an hour and 35,000 a day. Different writes cost different amounts: a follow or block costs three points.

Your Bluesky server allows about 1,666 follows or blocks an hour and 11,666 a day.

BskyKit suggests at most 1,000 a day, counting follows, unfollows, blocks, unblocks, mutes, and block list entries together, because large runs can get an account labeled as spam. The suggestion counts what you wrote in the last 24 hours. Before a larger run, BskyKit tells you how many days it takes at the suggested pace.

Up to about 5,000 an hour and 35,000 a day.

Mutes use none of your server’s write points. BskyKit sends about four a second.

Up to about 5,000 deletes an hour and 35,000 a day, 200 at a time. Bulk Delete suggests at most 10,000 a day, so your account keeps room to post, like, and follow.

Bluesky sends followers 100 at a time and limits how fast any one connection can ask, so loading a large account takes minutes.

When a run reaches a limit, it waits and carries on by itself once the limit resets. BskyKit works in your browser, so runs and loads only progress while a BskyKit tab is open. If you close the tab, the run waits, paused, in History until you resume it. See History & Undo.
